This year is much an extension of Cells in first year but goes into a lot more depth about genetics, for example in yeast and bacteriophage. Then, in Lent term, there are a few large modules on development which I found pretty interesting, after a few modules on organelle biogenesis which I didn’t find particularly enthralling. The practicals are also actually pretty helpful as the demonstrators were full of knowledge and had a lot of time to explain things I didn’t understand in the Lectures.

Take it if you liked bits of Biology of Cells (they aren’t exactly the same, there is quite a lot of new stuff in CDB) and are thinking about Genetics or Biochemistry. It’s also just a really good base to have for a Bio NatSci in general as quite a lot of things refer back to it.
