Involves writing up a project usually based on a field trip taken the summer before second year. This is worth a third of the module’s marks, and therefore there are no practicals. As the project can be written up before the year even starts, this frees up quite a lot of time during terms to keep on top of all the other work. The first term of the course is very geography-based, with weather systems and flooding, with the second term being more related to animal ecology, which in my opinion is far more interesting. There is some repetition from E&B in the first year, so if you enjoyed that then it may be worth considering, but only if you feel like the geographical aspects wouldn’t bore you.
