Georgie Ward

A diverse course covering topics from neural development to the sensory systems and memory. I would recommend to anyone taking Neuro to look in a text book for brain anatomy and orientate yourself with some of the key brain structures before starting as at times all the new names can be overwhelming.

A very interesting course with practicals every week to put the ideas covered in lectures into practice (anything from dissecting brains to testing neural impulses in frog muscles).

The supervisor, Dr Dalley, is a leader in his field of the brain reward system, which is covered in the end of lent term. He is also very knowledgeable on the exams which is useful. To bulk out notes I suggest looking in text books or emailing the lecturers for more information. This is a useful course to combine with Physiology and appeals to both Phys and Bio NatScis.
